Lift Learning can provide a variety of services including, but not limited to:
MSL (Multisensory Structured Language) is an approach, not a program. While largely inspired by the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach it is not OG.
MSL is an approach to teaching reading and spelling that is structured, systemic, cumulative, and intensive. In other words, there is a logic and order to when skills are taught, moving from easiest to hardest, with each skill building on the one before.
MSL uses explicit direct instruction which means nothing is left to chance. We don’t wait and hope ‘it clicks’
MSL uses all the senses – sight, touch and sound to help ground student learning.
Developed in the UK Sounds-Write a phonics program used in both whole class, small group, and 1:1 reading and spelling instruction.
Sounds-Write works from speech to print (moving from the sounds we use when speaking to the letters we use to spell).
Sounds-Write provides students with explicit, direct instruction in a structured and sequential order. Each skill builds on to the ones already learnt to maximise student learning.
Sounds-Write is well regarded by leaders in the area of Specific Learning Difficulties, including the various branches of SPELD.
Math-U-See is a multisensory math program designed to meet the needs of all learners.
Math-U-See’s ‘see it, feel ituses hands on tools to make math not only visible, but something learners can manipulate to develop their understandings.
Math-U-See targets learners from preschoolers to Year 12. Their ‘see it, feel it, write it, say it’ approach to solidify student learning.
Math-U-See is a systematic and sequential program. This means each skill builds up student knowledge, moving from least to most difficult.
Math-U -See is aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
I recommend all potential clients book an obligation free consultation.
This is an opportunity to tell me about your concerns and what you’re hoping to get from my services. It’s also a chance meet me, ask questions, and see if you feel comfortable and confident with me.
You can then book an assessment, I provide a brief summary and learning plan and a feedback session can be scheduled.
Finally we find a suitable session.
Sessions are available face-to-face and online.
Face-to-face sessions are at my office in Shepparton. Online sessions are via Zoom which is great for those outside of the Goulburn Valley, and adults wanting support.
Sessions are offered in 1:1, semi-private, and small group settings. Semi-private sessions are for two students, while small-groups have 3-4 students. These groups are based on skill level and/or age range, and which programs are being used for the student.
Which methods and programs are used depend on individual needs and wants.
Some people are very clear about what they want and are looking for me because they want MSL therapy or a Sounds-Write practitioner, while others are not.
The initial assessment helps decide what will be most effective, but generally learning plans include more than one focus, so multiple methods are used.
It all comes down to individual needs.
When attending sessions at the office we provide everything you need.
Online sessions require access to a laptop or PC, a quiet space and a headset.
Parents and carers are encouraged to attend sessions so that they are able to support children at home.
Feedback is provided regularly, either verbally or via brief session notes.

The program is aimed at students from year 3 to year 8 and runs for 9 weeks during the school term, or as a 2-3 day intensive program during school holidays.
