Find out how to make spelling practice meaningful and memorable!

Hi, I'm Kayelene!

I help children, teens, and adults who struggle with reading, spelling, written expression, and numeracy.

I started teaching in 2013 and quickly found that many of my students had gaps in their learning, and were being left behind by the traditional approaches in my classroom. When my own child failed to progress I went looking for answers.

This highlighted the gaps in my own education about identifying students with potential learning difficulties and how to best support them to learn effectively.

I have since undergone training in Cracking the ABC Code, MSL (Multisensory Structured Language) and I am also a certified Sounds-Write First Rate Phonics practitioner, and have completed numerous other courses and training relating to all things literacy.

I am mother and step-mother to five children and have lived, studied and worked in the Goulburn Valley all my life; I’m a self-confessed word nerd that loves reading, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.

How I can help...

What I do

I use evidence-based programs and resources to improve reading, spelling, written expression, and numeracy skills in children, teens and adults. Every program is personalised to maximise learning opportunities and outcomes.

Therapy sessions are offered in 1:1, semi-private, and small group settings, and offer both face-to-face an online sessions.

I am experienced in working with clients with Specific Learning Disorders including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.

Not just a tutor

Lift Learning is not a tutoring service; I provide specialist educational therapy for people with persistent literacy and numeracy difficulties.

I am VIT registered teacher trained to teach students with persistent difficulties, using methods proven to work.

Lift Learning is not another ‘cookie cutter’ approach to learning. I use intensive, targeted strategies designed to meet the needs of individuals with significant learning difficulties with or without a formal diagnosis.

How it works

After an initial assessment a personalised plan is created to target the clients needs. This may include using the following approaches, programs and resources:

  • MSL Therapy
  • Sounds-Write First Rate Phonics program and resources.
  • Cracking the ABC Code program and resources
  • The Writing Revolution Resources
  • William Van Cleave resources including Writing Matters
  • Math-U-See program and resources
